Like Attracts Like – The Law of Attraction

This will be a short post. (I say that every time I begin writing) But it will be this time. I’m compelled to talk about the law of attraction because of recent things I’ve been experiencing. If you’re unfamiliar with the law of attraction it’s simply the idea that like attracts like. Meaning that thoughts and instances of the same kind are attracted to one another. The saying “birds of a feather, flock together” is an example. Or my personal favorite “If I tell you a duck can pull a truck, then shut up and hook it up!” (that was a horrible example and shouldn’t be taken seriously. I only wanted to quote Martin) But you get my drift. “What you think about, you bring about.”

I want to talk about the law of attraction briefly to highlight the power of truly owning and magnifying your beliefs. The opportunities that have been presented to me recently have all been in-line with what I truly want to do. And I believe it all has to do with the vibes I send out. Over the past few month’s I’ve been presented with 7 different opportunities all being entrepreneurial related. Whether they were requests for partnerships on a business venture or just someone being helpful and presenting me with an idea that I can take and apply on my own. An opportunity to train a high school athlete in football was even brought my way. I still love football and would love to do that too.

But this isn’t so much about all of those opportunities, as it is the energy that I’ve been sending out. Those opportunities are brought my way because of what I’ve been focused on wholeheartedly. They’re brought my way because of the passion and enthusiasm I exude when I talk about entrepreneurship. So, in essence, I do half the work while God and The Universe do the rest.

A quote that I always refer to and have been fond of since I came across it is from the book, The Alchemist.

When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

It’s pretty self-explanatory. And is the exact recipe for acquiring anything you want. The key word in the quote is “want”. When we focus on what it is that we want and not what we don’t want, we’ll begin to see those things manifest. Oftentimes when we’re considering what it is that we want, in the same breath we ponder what it is we don’t want out of that exact scenario.

For example, if we say, “I really want a new car, BUT I don’t know how I will pay for it.” In one sentence, you’ve killed the possibility of you getting that new car. Because you blocked it with negativity and doubt by “not knowing how you will pay for it.” Instead, just say “I really want a new car” and leave it at that. Once you make that statement and believe faithfully that it will happen, opportunities will come your way. Just as you have intended them to.

All I’ve been saying to myself is “I want to continue my entrepreneurial endeavors that provide the wealth I want.” Not once do I think about or consider the negatives that come with it or doubt that it will happen.

I don’t ever say, “with wealth comes envy” or “with money comes fake friends”. Although I’m very aware that these statements could hold some truth, they only hold as much truth as I perceive them to. So why would I speak them into my existence when that’s not what I want!

Speak more on what you love and less on what you hate.”

These opportunities are presented to me because I’ve constantly and confidently spoken about what I want. The Universe then conspires in helping me to achieve it. It comes in the form of people reaching out to me for business ventures, creative ideas that come to mind or finding old money in a pair of jeans I hadn’t worn in a year :-). Whatever it may be, I just have to read the omens and recognize when opportunities and blessings are being sent my way.

I said this wouldn’t be long and I think I’ve driven home my point. So try it out. From now on, focus on only what it is that you want. Let your wants be known to whoever you think will listen. And watch how it begins to reveal itself in front of you.

I’d love to know what you think. Comment below.
